Ultraslim insulation KORUND consists of high quality acryl substance, originally developed composition of catalysts and fixers, ceramic ultra thin microspheres with rarefied air. To the basic composition of the material special supplements are added, which exclude the appearance of corrosion on the metal surfaces and mould forming at increased humidity medium on concrete surfaces.

This combination makes the material light, flexible, elastic, possessing excellent adhesion to the covered surface. The material consistency resembles ordinary paint suspension of white colour, which could be laid on every surface. After drying up elastic polymeric layer is formed, which compared to conventional insulators possesses unique heat insulating properties and assures anticorrosion protection.

The uniqueness of the insulation properties of KORUND are a result of the intensive molecular effect of the rarefied air, placed in the hollow spheres.

KORUND is completely certified and meets the stated characteristics. As it is known, the air heat conductivity is low 0,0262 W/mK it is not bad heat insulator. Generally known is the heat conductivity of ceramic spheres with rarefied air: not more than 0,00083 W/mK.
The content of microscopic ceramic spheres in KORUND varies from 75% to 90% depending on modification.

What is the material performance from heat physics point of view?

Lets begin with the fact, that three ways of heat transfer exist:

  1. Heat conductivity heat transfer in solids at the expense of kinetic energy of molecules and atoms from the warmer body to the less warm.
  2. Convection heat transfer in liquids, gases and powdered medium as flows of the substance itself.
  3. Radiation heat exchange (heat radiation) electromagnetic radiation of the radiating substance, originating at the expense of its internal energy.

Thermodynamics a science studying the laws of transformation and transfer of energy. A result of these processes is the temperature equilibrium in the whole system.

The method and the efficiency of blocking the heat redistribution by the insulating material, i.e. the process of temperature equilibrium are determined by the quality of the insulation.

Heat release convective or radiation heat-exchange between the surface of the solid body and the surrounding environment. The intensity of that heat exchange is characterized by a heat transfer factor.

The liquid ceramic heat insulating material KORUND this a complex, multistage structure, in which the three ways of heat transfer are brought to the minimum.

The ceramic heat insulator KORUND 80% average is composed by microspheres and respectively only 20% of the substance could conduct heat on account of its heat conductivity. The other part of the heat comes in through convection and radiation and because of the fact that the microspheres contain rarefied air (its heat conductivity is described above) so the heat losses are insignificant. Due to its composition the material possesses low heat release from the surface which plays a decisive role in its heat physics. Thus it is necessary two terms to be separated: Heat Carrier and Heat Insulator, as in those materials physics of realizing the heat transfer process is different.

The efficiency of the heat carrier is directly dependent on thickness: thicker wadding layer, better characteristics.
The thickness of the heat insulating layer of super thin heat insulation KORUND varies from 1 to 6 mm, a following increase not having effect on its efficiency.

The heating element house hot-plate is covered by a layer of heat insulating material KORUND of 2 mm thickness.
The temperature on the surface of the heating element not covered by KORUND varies from 210C to maximum 225C.
The temperature on the surface of the heating element covered by KORUND is limited between 133C to maximum 135C.

The heat insulating cover permits contact with the heating element for a minimum of 10 seconds with no harm to health.
On the thermogramme contact traces are visible for 20 seconds.
